Become a Volunteer

Whether you are caring for kittens at the shelter, assisting the medical team, or doing administrative tasks, you're helping us continue to save thousands of kittens every year! Plus, you'll get paid in kitten cuddles. Check out all of our current volunteer positions below.

work in the nursery

Learn how to take care of kittens of all shapes and sizes in our kitten nursery

Nursery Caregiver

Our nursery provides daytime care for kittens that are waiting for foster or rescue pick-up. It's a great way to get your kitten fix or to practice feeding more challenging kittens before you foster them yourself.

To become a nursery caregiver, volunteers must:

  • Be committed! We require volunteers to commit to at least one 2-hour shift each week for a minimum for two months

  • Get additional training. Volunteers must attend training, which consists of a 1-hour introduction to policies and procedures, followed by two full shifts shadowing an experienced feeder in the nursery for hands-on-training with the kittens

  • Be at least 12 years old. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a fully-trained parent or guardian at all times.

The most integral part of our foster and nursery system! Kitten Coordinators make sure that every kitten gets to where they need to go and the receives the care that they need. This includes helping with communication between fosters, staff, nursery volunteers, and everyone else on the kitten team. You will respond to emails and phone calls, update kitten records, and spend lots of time in Slack, our team chat.

social media content creator

Do you love sharing pictures of kittens? Social media is a key part of how we keep up to date with our community and we'd love to have your voice on our team. Content creators work together to come up with fun, educational posts for Instagram and Facebook.
